What we will be building
We are creating a responsive website for a fictional hobby group called the FungiFinders.
You can explore a finished version of the project here.
Highly adaptable
While the topic of the project might seem a little off the beaten track, we're going to be creating this in a way that makes easy to customize.
That means you could easily adapt what we're making to make it something of your own without too much work.
And while I do encourage you to experiment and play with things as we go through this project, for the first run-through, I do think there is a lot to learn in trying to match a given design.
Once you've completed the project, you can learn a lot by then experimenting with how to customize it.
The design files
The design itself, as well as a small "design system", is provided as a Figma file, which is an industry standard design software for creating websites and apps.
You can access the design here.
You do not need to download Figma, it works in the browser.
You also do not need a Figma account to view the files, but you will need them if you want to get information from them.
If you'd prefer not to have to work with Figma, .jpg
files of all the designs are provided along with the assets (see below).
The assets, copy & designs
You can download all of the assets, copy, and designs here.
That link will download a .zip
file.
Once you download and unzip the file, I encourage you to poke around and see what's in there, but we will explore everything in a later lesson as well.
Following along
I encourage you to write everything yourself as you go through this course. A lot of code is shown in these lessons for reference purposes, but not all of it will be.
If you do get stuck and something isn't working in your own code, you can reference the code in this repo, where I've broken down the progress by each section in this course.
It is possible that the code doesn't match perfectly what I show during the course, but it will be very similar to my finished version, and should help you if ever you are stuck and need something to reference.
