It's all about the journey
My goal for this course is not to teach you how to make the layout we saw in the previous lesson.
Don't get me wrong, we will be building that out together, but I don't want to sit here and write a bunch of CSS, hoping you're sitting there following along.
There is value in seeing how others work, and you'd definitely pick some things up if but instead, my plan is to share as much as my thought process as possible in an effort to help you learn how to analyze and break down the parts of project, from the big picture analysis to the small details.
I fully realize how I write CSS is opinionated. I think it's a pretty good way approach things, but I want to let you make up your own mind along the way as well (though don't worry, I won't offer up solutions that I think are problematic).
So, while I will be sharing my own solutions and how I would tackle things, I'll also be presenting alternative approaches at times as well.
A tale of two parts
I've broken this course down into two parts.
Part one has a large focus on how to approach a new project.
We'll be going over the planning stages and how to approach writing maintainable CSS, all while starting to build out the project.
Part two looks at leveraging what we've created, dealing with a project as it grows, and adding in some fun touches along the way as well..
This course page is for part one. You can access the course page for part two here.
